Limitless Escape Games and Limitless Axes & Ales is a small, family-owned business founded by Michael and Brook Hill. The idea was born out of a simple work trip and a shared passion for creating unforgettable experiences. In 2016, while on a business trip to Austin, Texas, Michael played his first escape room. The thrill of the challenge stuck with him, but what really set things in motion was Brook’s suggestion to open their own escape room. Tired of Michael’s grueling Bay Area commute and noticing the lack of escape rooms in their area, they decided to take the plunge.
That year, they began building their first escape room business, Limitless Escape Games, in Livermore, CA. What started as a leap of faith quickly turned into a success, and today, they have expanded to three locations in Livermore, Stockton, and Pleasanton. Their dedication to creating unique and engaging experiences has been the key to their growth.
But the Hills didn’t stop there. Their love for competitive socializing and destination entertainment led them to a new adventure: axe throwing. While on a trip to New York, with Brook pregnant with their youngest, they tried axe throwing for the first time. The experience was so exhilarating that they knew they had to bring it back home. In 2020, they opened the first Limitless Axes & Ales in Pleasanton. The concept was an instant hit, combining the excitement of axe throwing with a vibrant social atmosphere. They’ve since expanded with locations in Stockton and Brentwood, including an 8,000 sq. ft. entertainment venue that’s become a local favorite.
At the heart of it all is the Hill family. Their passion for bringing people together in fun and innovative ways drives everything they do. As a small, family-owned business, they take pride in creating a welcoming environment where everyone can enjoy the thrill of the game, whether it’s solving puzzles or hitting the bullseye.
